Day 23 - Island Proposal & Me Gone

Arnold has spoken. He has told my students what he wants in his Island. Today, the work to be done is for your production teams to submit your proposal.

The Pre-Production Engineer is in charge of getting today's work done. This does not mean this person does all the work, but that you will lead this portion of the project.

The Products Engineer must make arrangements for all materials to be available in the classroom by Friday. You will need at least the following items:
  • poster board
  • coloring pencils
  • markers
  • pencils
  • rulers
  • any other items your team might need to create your poster to present to Arnold.
Mr. Murry will be at a conference for Social Studies teachers today. I am not looking forward to missing class, but I am required to go, and we will have a better understanding of what the state of Georgia is expecting students to know as a result of the new curriculum.

Ric,

This is some great stuff!! As one of your extended network friends I am looking forward to following you and your teammates through the curriculum. I will also be practicing that hallmark of educators known as stealing other teachers ideas.

Good luck at your meeting I know how those go and you will need it. Question of the day-- Why do we ask teachers to teach with humor and joy and block all humor related websites? The easy answer--admin types are humor challenged?

Thanks Phil,

I hope we won't let you down.

The meeting/training today was actually pretty good. A little long, but getting the INTENT of the standards was excellent. We also received some outstanding resources on Africa, Southwest Asia, and South Asia that will help us achieve our objectives.

Many of the ideas I learned today will make their way into future posts.
